Werewolves, romance and a race against the clock? YES, PLEASE!

Happy Thursday All! So it's taking me a little longer than I'd like to get through Bitten. Unfortunately, real life has caught up with me and took me hostage! But I wanted to review a book that I recommend to EVERYONE. And, ironically, it's also about werewolves!

Lets start with the synopsis given on the Shiver website:

"For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. "

The first time someone told me about Shiver, I thought "wow, that sounds cheesy." I literally read the first page and could NOT put it down. It's just THAT good!
The chemistry between Grace and Sam in undeniable. One of the things I love about the book itself is the way the author transitions POVs from Grace to Sam and back again. It's very similar to the finesse Audrey Niffenegger used for The Time Traveler's Wife.

With Grace and Sam, I found myself devouring what they had to say and what happened next. I cared about what happened to them as if they were my oldest, dearest friends. I also found myself completely falling in love with Sam. Oh Sam! He's one of the most lovable males in all of literature!

While reading Shiver, I recommend having a box of tissues available. Just trust me, and if you don't, remember I warned you!

Of all the books I've read this year, Shiver tops the shelf! I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

  6. Oh I hate that. I *just* finished Bitten. It took me 2 weeks. Usually it doesn't take me that long. I guess with the holidays approaching, real life keeps getting in the way.

Shiver's truly hard to put down. I just absolutely adore Sam. He makes the novel! I want a Sam of my very own! :o)

Eternal Jade- how is Fairy Tale? I keep getting mixed reviews so I don't know whether or not to read it.
