Some Girls Are...
Think of the meanest thing anyone has ever done to you. Now multiply that by 1000, and you'll have an idea of what Regina has to go through.
Once part of the Fearsome Fivesome, the highest in high school hierarchy, Regina Afton must pay the price for being kicked out. The worst part about it? She didn't even do what they accuse her of doing. Every day at school, the now Fearsome Foursome find some way to torture her.
The only comfort Regina finds is in another student named Michael Hayden. The only catch is that Michael HATES Regina. After all, she did to him what the Fearsome Foursome are now doing to her. Can a mean girl really do a 180 and turn into a decent person? And can Michael find a way to forgive Regina?
Brutally honest, Some Girls Are shows you what it's like to be the most hated girl in school. Some parts literally made me cringe. I don't think I would've lasted 5 minute in Regina's shoes. At the same time, I couldn't get enough of this book. I read it in one night, and I haven't done that in ages.
Courtney Summers is now on my list of "must buy everything she writes" authors. If you like Speak by Laurie Anderson Halse, you'll love Some Girls Are.
