Tangled by Carolyn Mackler

Synopsis: Jena, Dakota, Skye, and Owen are all at Paradise—the resort in the Caribbean, that is—for different reasons, but in Paradise their lives become tangled together in ways none of them can predict. Over the course of four months, through four voices and four stories, what happened in Paradise will change them all.

In this extraordinary novel, the Printz Honor–winning author brings us her most accomplished work yet. Tangled is a story of the secrets we keep, the risks we take, and the things we do for love.

I'm quite borderline when it comes to this book. I like it, but I didn't love it. As far as stars go, I'd give it 3. The book is told through 4 different points of view.

It starts in April with Jena. Jena is a 16 year old looking for her own love story. Instead of reading about them, she wants to live one. But (as everyone knows) boys are certainly not like the characters we read about in novels. With Jena, the book is about her growing up and finding out what she really wants.

Jump to May and the book continues with Dakota. Dakota is your typical high-school-sex-crazed-jock. In one word, he is an asshole. Sorry about the language, but he is! With Dakota, the story is about him dealing with past demons and learning to be something more than what people expect of him.

Fast forward to June. Skye is an actress. She has it all, but at the same time, has nothing. Her life seems so perfect on paper, but in truth, she's just as messed up as everyone else. Skye needs to find the answers to her past before she can figure out who she is.

And the story ends in July with Owen. Owen is my FAVORITE of all the characters. He's hilarious and adorable! He reminds me of my brother, living life through a computer. He even has a blog called "Loser With A Laptop." Without being spoilery, his story is about stepping away from the computer and really living.

The story's a bit confusing, but everything connects at the end. All the characters are tangled (ya like that?) together. It might not be the best read out there, but it's still a cute one.
