It took me one restless night to finish Linger. Let me tell you, it will not disappoint. As you know, it usually takes me a couple days after I finish a book to write the review. I like to let it "simmer" in my thoughts.
The thing is, I couldn't wait for Tuesday to share a teaser with you. Instead, I thought "Why not give everyone a tiny sneak peak?" For those who have yet to read Shiver, I don't recommend reading this. And for those who have, don't worry. This isn't spoilery.
This small section is from one of my favorite Sam and Grace moments. It'a a bit of a flashback, and I'm going to have to cut it short (due to spoilery reason), but I think you'll enjoy it.
Here we go:
"'Do you remember the first time we came up here?' she asked as I sat there, half-alone in the darkness of my closed eyes.
It wasn't a question meant to be answered, so I just smiled.
'Do you remember how you made me close my eyes, and you read me that poem from Rilke?' Grace's voice was closer; I felt her knee touch mine. 'I loved you so much right then, Sam Roth.'
My skin tightened in a shiver, and I swallowed. I knew she loved me, but she almost never said it. That alone could've been her birthday gift for me."-Page 95
Rilke! Oh, the memories. Good sneak peek, dear!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I wish I spoke German. There were a couple German lines where I was like "Jigga Wha?" I just basically assumed what it meant b/c of what followed.

ReplyDelete@Andrea- YAY! I hope you love Shiver as much as I did. And you have no idea how great-awful it is to read Linger. I loved it, I'm dying to talk about it, but no one I know has read it. :P
