Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It showcases each individual blogger's most anticipated reads. This week, my pick is Wintertown by Stephen Emond.
Summary:Every winter, straight-laced, Ivy League bound Evan looks forward to a visit from Lucy, a childhood pal who moved away after her parent's divorce. But when Lucy arrives this year, she's changed. The former "girl next door" now has chopped dyed black hair, a nose stud, and a scowl. But Evan knows that somewhere beneath the Goth, "Old Lucy" still exists, and he's determined to find her... even if it means pissing her off.
Garden State meets Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist in this funny and poignant illustrated novel about opposites who fall in love.
Why I Can't Wait:I love the summary! There's just something about a good guy, trying to save a bad girl and/or childhood friend that intrigues me. Plus, Garden State meets Nick and Norah's? Umm, winning?! That's like offering me pizza AND ice cream! Needless to say, I'm definitely looking forward to this book!
Expected publication: December 5th 2011 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (Nice, just in time for Christmas!)
