Better Know A Blogger: Bailey from IB Book Blogging
It's time for another Better Know A Blogger post! This person is someone I actually met at ALA, while waiting for CROSSED arcs. She's awesome and such a sweetheart, so without further ado, please welcome Bailey from IB Book Blogging.
1. What is your name/blogger name?
My name is Bailey. =)
2. What is the name of your blog? How did you pick your blog’s name?
The name of my blog is IB Book Blogging. I came about this randomly one day when I was thinking about what I could possibly name my blog that was original and fit me. Then it hit me--I am an IB student and that is what consumes most of my time decides reading. And that's when the name came to me--IB Book Blogging. Get it? I Be Book Blogging (Like I am book blogging but replace the am with be. =P) It is kind of silly but I love it!
If you want to check out my blog, go HERE.
3. How long have you been blogging? How do you measure blogging success?
I have been blogging since July of 2010. I just recently had my one year blogoversary and I am so proud of myself for sticking with blogging!
I measure blogging success by how my reviews, guest posts, interviews affect my readers. Even if just one reader comments on or tells me how much they agree with my post, like it, or even disagree, then that post was a success.
4. What genres/subgenres do you review, and what do you like best about those genres?
I review anything in the YA genre that isn't horror. I have even reviewed some adult romance books because I love the romance genre a whole lot! Romance is often looked down upon by others who don't understand it and I really hate that. I like romance because I like seeing how being in love can change a guy/girl for the better (or even worse). I do like it best in the YA genre because the romance seems more real, even if it is between two teens who have so much more to experience in life. I also like how many yummy guys are in them. ;)
5. What are you reading right now?
Right now I am reading Shut Out by Kody Keplinger.
6. Do you use social media? (include links to Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, etc) What book-related things do you choose to tweet/facebook post about?
I use Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads to network. I have met so many awesome bloggers and readers through all of the social media websites that I have listed, but especially through twitter.
I tweet about my book reviews that I have just recently posted, interviews, guest posts, and giveaways. I also have it set up so that my facebook fan page posts my blog posts on Facebook when they post on my blog. That is really helpful!
Here is where you can find me:
7.What's your favorite place to read?
My favorite place to read is my bed. It is so comfy and if I get tired while I am reading, I can easily take a short little nap. ;) Also, my 4 dogs love my bed so they will snuggle with me when I read. =)
8. What are the top 5 books in your TBR (To Be read) pile?
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, Lola and the Boy Next Door, The Carrier of the Mark, A Beautiful Dark, and Deadly Cool
AWESOME LIST OF BOOKS!!! It kind of looks like my TRB pile, lol. Anywho, moving on...
9. Obligatory controversial question: Love triangles! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, and why?
It really depends on how they are executed and who the love triangle is between. I really don't care for the obvious love triangles. By that I mean that I am pretty sure I know who the girl will end up with and basically the other guy is just in there to make a love triangle in the story. I really hate that and I think the guy who is the one that the girl will obviously not end up with gets the short end of the stick. I really like love triangles that are so hard to tell the outcome of. I want to be able to have to guess at who she might end up with, not go in knowing.
10. What's the best thing about blogging and reviewing books?
The best thing about blogging is the feedback that I get from readers and the friends that I have made in the year that I have been blogging. The best thing about reviewing books is getting my thoughts out there and maybe helping someone determine whether or not the book would be to their liking. =)
Thank you so much, Bailey, for taking the time out of your schedule to answer a few questions for us. Seriously, if you guys are not following Bailey's blog, you're totally missing out!
