Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger's most anticipated books. This week, my pick is The Thing About The Truth by Lauren Barnholdt.

Summary: "Sixteen-year-old Kelsey Romano has always been one of the most popular girls at Concordia Prep. But after a disastrous breakup and her subsequent meltdown (um, destruction of school property, anyone?) she's kicked out of Con Prep and shipped off to Concordia High School, for good.

Seventeen-year-old Isaac Brandano has been kicked out of more prep schools than he can name. But now that his father's State Senate campaign is pushing a public school agenda, Isaac finds himself enrolled at Concordia High.

Kelsey and Isaac are destined to hate each other. And at first, they do. But when they are forced together on the creation of a new school club, sparks begin to fly. Then the club's critical event turns into chaos. Now Kelsey and Isaac must retrace their steps and figure out how and why everything got so got screwed up, who was to blame, and how they can move forward.

This new novel from fan-favorite Lauren Barnholdt showcases--through a sweet and sparkly narrative--how the last person you expect might just be the one who changes your life forever."

Why I Can't Wait: HUGE Lauren Barnholdt fan here. I absolutely loved Aces Up and Sometimes It Happens, so needless to say, I cannot freaking wait for her next book. I'm loving the summary. If you know me, you know I love a good love-hate relationship! The only thing I'm not so sure about is the cover. While it's nice, the girl looks...bored? Annoyed? Maybe this has something to do with the story, so I guess we shall all wait and see!

Expected publication: July 10th 2012 by Simon Pulse

  1. hahaha the girl definitely looks bored! I added this book to my TBR list last week :) I'm a Lauren Barnholdt fan, too! I loved Two-way Street and One Night That Changes Everything. I still need to read Aces Up.

  2. I love the simple colors and text on the cover but I do wonder why that girl is staring off into space...Shouldn't she be kissing the cute dude right in front of her??

  3. This one is new to me! Maybe she is watching The Hunger Games trailer on her phone? Where are they? She looks mesmerized. Maybe that is a clue about the book. Not sure...

  4. Yup, she looks kind of bored to me. Or at least listless. But the synopsis sounds intriguing ;)

  5. I love Lauren Barnholdt books, LOVE them, the cover looks awesome!!

  6. The girl looks distracted, he's either not filling her with the burning tingles or she's got some serious stuff on her mind. This is already on my TBR, lets hope with both love it!

    My WoW

  7. OMG Loved Sometimes it Happens so much! Totally can't wait for this one :) Great WoW pick!
