In My Mailbox + TXLA

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

This past week, TXLA happened to be in my town, and I was fortunately enough to attend Thursday. TXLA is one of my favorite conferences and let me tell you, it is a blast. With a killer line up of authors and signings (Veronica Roth, Kristin Cashore, John Green, Lauren Kate, Stacey Kade, Rachel Vincent, Jackson Pearce, Judy Blume and more!), this was one of those "can't miss" events.

KRISTIN CASHORE!!!

I cannot tell you how much fun I had. Books are definitely a perk, but the main reason I go to these events is so I can meet authors, chit chat with publishers, randomly run into Deb Caletti (PLEASE READ THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!), and hang out with my friends.

Ginger from GReads Books, Jess from Gone With The Words, and Cynthia from A Blog About Nothing. Magan from Rather Be Reading, why aren't you in this photo?

These lovely ladies made my day. I never laughed so hard in my life! The day was fun (and a little tiring), but I have to say, dinner was the best part of the day. "Is that a burrito in your pocket or are you happy to see me?". HA!

After an exhausting day, I came home with a lot of memories and quite a bit of goodies. Some of these I bought, and the rest I snagged. I am so grateful to all the publishers who stood in their mile high pumps all day, just to help us out and share their love of books with everyone. You guys are seriously rockstars and deserve mani-pedis ASAP! Yes, even you male publicists should get a mani-pedi STAT! Thank you so much for all your help!!!

  2. Suitcase, hahaha. I brought A TON of books to get signed, too. They're not pictured above, though.

Lauren Kate was such a sweetheart! I didn't know she based Cam's character on her husband.

You must read the Seven Kingdoms trilogy immediately! I cannot recommend it enough! Incredible!

  6. Holy jeez! How in the world did you carry all those books? LOL! It's clear I should have hooked up with y'all when I arrived, because I missed a LOT of amazing books. I think I glimpsed you from afar, but was never able to catch up.

So glad you had a wonderful time at TXLA! It really _was_ amazing, wasn't it? I randomly spotted John Green walking by and totally fangirled. LOL. Can't wait to attend more bookish events!

  16. Looks like you had a great time at TXLA. So sad it is too far and during the week! I can't wait for Bitterblue to come out. I've been waiting for this one forever. Have you read The Fault in Our Stars already? It is awesome, and it made me cry in my bed like a baby. You should read it first!
