Top Ten Books To Read In One Day

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is your top ten books to read in one day. I'm not kidding, I stayed up all night to finish each and every one of these books. Really, they're that good. Ch-ch-check it out!

Anna and the French Kiss: What is it about Paris that screams romance? It definitely makes the perfect backdrop for a great, no FABULOUS contemporary novel. I loved every minute of this book, especially a certain scene that involves laying in the park. RAWR!

Lola and the Boy Next Door: What can I say? I love Stephanie Perkins. She writes some of the best contemporary novels I have ever read and is an absolute sweetheart. This book was by far one of the best books I read last year. From the cameo of certain characters, to Lola and her dads, and of course, Cricket, everything about this book is made of pure win. I love you, Cricket!

Where She Went (If I Stay #2): Where She Went is the fabulous follow up to Gayle Forman's If I Stay. Since this book is told through Adam's POV, I couldn't help but fall in love with him all over again. He's so broken, yet beautiful. Oh, and when he finally runs into Mia, after all those years...*sigh*. I really hope Gayle writes a third novel, but if she doesn't, this really was the perfect ending.

The Hunger Games: There's a reason why the books and movie are doing so well, and that's simple because the story is epic. My love for dystopia began when I fell in love with The Hunger Games. This book keeps your heart pounding from the beginning to the very end. Let us not forget Peeta. MMM...Peeta.

The Harry Potter Series: Sorry, I couldn't pick just one! Remember the midnight Harry Potter parties at Barnes and Noble? Yeah, I went to those and spent the rest of the night reading whatever book was released. Harry Potter teaches you so much about life and tragedy, especially about doing the right thing, no matter what. AHH, love this series1

Daughter of Smoke and Bone: LOOOOOVE Daughter of Smoke and Bone! I couldn't put it down. The writing is spectacular and the storytelling is even better. It's crazy how this book will have you hating one character one minute and loving him the next. I cannot (CANNOT) wait until Days of Blood and Starlight comes out. EEP!!!

DIVERGENT: Goodness, how I love this book! How could you not? From the beginning to the end, I was completely mezmorized by Veronica Roth's world. I would gladly choose Dauntless, jump in and out of trains, off of building tops, whatever, to spend a day with Four. I love this book so much, I even bought several copies for my friends/family. Nothing says I love you like a copy of Divergent!

Shade: You guys, I simply could not put this book down. I tried to pace myself so I could enjoy each and every chapter, but it didn't turn out that way. Waiting for Shift to release was the worst! I really think Jeri Smith-Ready must be my music soulmate. And, of course, Logan and Zachary. I'm smiling right now just thinking about them!

Shiver: This book is pure poetry. The writing is stunning to say the least. I fell in love with Sam the instant I started the book. And I mean it when I say that I have never cried as hard as I did while I read Shiver. Gosh, you really relate to these characters...probably not the turning into wolves part but with the emotional factor. For anyone that has read Shiver, you know what I mean.

Fire: It takes a really talented author to write a prequel instead of a sequel and tell an even more magnificient story (if that's even possible) than their first one. I originally wanted to post Graceling, but after speaking with my very awesome from Cynthia, I had to agree that I did enjoy Fire more. It's amazeballs!

That's all, folks! What books would you include in your Top Ten Books To Read In One Day? Any of the above or different ones all together?

  1. I've read most of the books on your list, and I 100% agree with them! (I haven't read Shade, Shiver, or Fire.) I'm glad you chose Where She Went instead of If I Stay. I liked that book, too, but WSW was just... beautiful. I think about that book at random moments. I <3 it. And you. :)

  3. I was totally kicking myself this morning for not having put Daughter of Smoke and Bone on my list because it totally goes there! And I'll be picking Divergent up this week...giving in to the Insurgent hype and I can't resist anymore.
