Hey guys! Thanks to the very awesome Shanyn from Lit Logistics, I am giving away a copy of BEING FRIENDS WITH BOYS. I'm currently reading it and have to tell you that it is FABULOUS. What I wouldn't give to have a guy friend to share a journal with!
Throughout the blog tour, Terra Elan McVoy will be discussing the difference between being friends with boys, and being friends with girls. I'll be revealing difference #4 today. Take it from here, Terra!
"Ever since my novel, Being Friends With Boys was released, I’ve been asked a lot about friendships between guys and girls. Is it possible, for one thing (duh, yes), and how is being friends with boys different than being friends with girls. I happen to be very lucky to have had friendships with both guys and girls all through middle- and high school, and continue to have fantastic friendships with men (and women) to this day. Though I think the value and intensity of guy/girl friendships and girl/girl friendships are definitely equal, there certainly are some differences. Follow my blog tour to read a few of my thoughts on how being friends with boys isn’t quite the same as being friends with girls!
4. Everyone else doesn’t always get it. Guys, have you ever had a girl friend, and all your friends are like, “Dude when you gonna hit that?” Girls? Same thing? Everyone asking you when you’re gonna kiss? Yeah, it’s frustrating. Just because you like to hang together doesn’t mean you like to hang on each other. But there are always going to be people who think there’s something else going on between you two—there are always going to be ignorant people—so the best thing to do is just focus on your friendship and ignore everyone else. "
How true is that?!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great beach read for the summer!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love the plot. :D
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I have just as many best guy friends as best girl friends, and since I'm married, people always think it's strange that I have guy friends other than my husband. It's really annoying! 21st century, people! :) I'm looking forward to reading this!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great book! I love boy/girl friendships. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for including BEING FRIENDS WITH BOYS and being part of the blog tour!!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a great read!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this book!!! So much questioning about whether boys and girls can just be friends!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I can't wait to read this one! :D
ReplyDeleteTerra's right, other people don't get it at all. And she's right about how to deal with it as well. Just carry on, you've got something special going on.
ReplyDeleteI love the topic of this book because it is possible for guys and girls tobe just friends. I personally find it a lot easier to have guy friends. I really wanted this book when it got released because it came out on my birthday but sadly I already went book crazy and couldn't get this as well. I definitely want to read Being Friends With Boys I know I will love it.
ReplyDeleteThankyouthankyouthankyou for writing a book where a guy and a girl can be friends! I enjoy my YA romances, but it's nice to see something platonic and realistic once in a while. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to read this book and hear what you have to say about the friendship between guys and girls. I've had the same problems before. Just because you are good friends with a guy, doesn't mean you two want to date. There are innocent friendships between guys and girls that exist.
ReplyDeleteI super want to read this one! Most of my friends in High School were boys so I want to see how my thoughts compare to the MC's in Being Friends with Boys.
ReplyDeleteLove the sounds of this book. Cannpot wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteYay! I've been eyeing this one and think it looks like such a fantastic read! I had a ton of male friends growing up and sometimes even preferred them to girls. No drama! Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy :)
ReplyDeletethis sounds good - would love to share with my daughter also!! We were just talking about this same thing..
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to read this one. Thanks for the chance to win!
